Letter from the Editor: Celebrating the Holidays
Dear Readers,
As the holiday season unfolds, it offers us a meaningful opportunity to celebrate not only the joys of the season but also the diversity that makes our workplace truly special.
The holidays are a time for connection, reflection, and gratitude. For many, they hold deeply personal meanings rooted in different traditions, cultures, and beliefs. This season reminds us of the importance of inclusion—ensuring that every team member feels valued and seen for who they are, both during the holidays and throughout the year.
Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, another holiday, or taking this time to simply rest and recharge, let’s honor the rich tapestry of experiences that we bring to the table. By sharing and learning from one another’s traditions, we create a stronger, more empathetic workplace.
This season, let’s focus on:
- Respecting Differences: Be mindful of the diverse ways colleagues may choose to celebrate or observe this time of year—or not at all. A kind word or simple curiosity about someone’s traditions can go a long way in building connection.
- Inclusive Celebrations: As we plan events or gatherings, let’s ensure they’re welcoming to everyone, recognizing that not all holidays are observed in the same way.
- Creating Space: This season can be joyful for many, but also complex for others. Let’s offer support and understanding, fostering an environment where everyone feels they belong.
I encourage each of you to take a moment to share your own traditions with your teams or learn about those of others. In doing so, we enrich our own perspectives and deepen the bonds that make our workplace not just a job, but a community.
Wishing you all a season filled with meaning, joy, and the comfort of knowing you belong.
With gratitude and warm wishes,
Alan Bernstein
